Rachelle Françoise Knöbl-Kett, was born April 30, 1973 in East London. She was brought up and bred in the late seventies in London with the mod revival scene, that has left her a mod at heart for the rest of her life. She is of Irish, Australian, British and Swiss extraction, with her mother Italian at heart, who lived in Roma and Fregene (IT), during the Second World War. Her father had two passions : shooting ranges, collecting firearms and painting: he exhibited regularly at the Royal National Gallery. Rachelle had taken a liking at the latter and had made painting her passion and now her work. Painting has been a continuous activity since her teens,  it has been a personal discipline  since the death of her father in 1993, and there on, has helped her through the rough and ready of life’s rich tapestry. She has been professionally a fine artist since 2012 with at least one public viewing per year. Rachelle finds inspiration in coastal walking by the North Sea, and strolls on secret footpaths in the Valais. Rachelle once lived in Malta but her family had to flee Valletta because of the political instability mid-seventies. Her interest is not in the temporary appearance of human beings, mountains and seas, but their underlying forms and personalities.  She lives from day to day and paints like if tomorrow doesn’t exist. Every day she finds fresh pleasures in painting, finding inspiration from books she reads and films she sees. Hence, she delivers works that are full of  splendor, contemplation, thought and reason. She collects tea mugs, frogs, parrots, rustic jugs, only wears second-hand clothes, faithful to her black Doc Martens, wishes to own a Clarisse Cliffe art ornament, has a fancy for anything that has a parrot print on, craves for Midnight Mint ice-cream, loves the Prussian blue cat and  knows her Lambrettas from her Vespas.
